How the call works
The video runs directly between your browser and your client’s using WebRTC, the real-time technology built into modern browsers. Psy180 handles only the introduction — relaying the connection setup so the two browsers can reach each other — and then steps out of the media path. The video and audio are encrypted in transit and are never recorded or stored by Psy180. Because it’s peer-to-peer, the picture is sharpest when both sides are on solid broadband; when a network blocks a direct connection, the call falls back to an encrypted relay so it still goes through. It’s covered by the same Business Associate Agreement as the rest of your session.

Not for the video itself. Psy180’s in-app video runs the call inside the same session as the bilateral stimulation, so there’s no second window to manage. Some practices keep a separate platform for scheduling or documentation — that’s up to you — but the live face-to-face during the BLS session is handled here. Free-tier therapists can paste their own telehealth link into the session instead.

No. Psy180 never records or stores the call. Video and audio stream peer-to-peer between your browser and your client’s, encrypted in transit by WebRTC (the real-time video technology built into modern browsers). The Psy180 server only helps the two browsers find each other to start the call — it doesn’t sit in the media path. If you need a recording for your notes, you’d capture it yourself, the same as with any session tool.

You start the video from your session controls; your client sees a “Join Video” button on their own session screen and taps it to allow their camera. Nothing to install — it runs in the browser. The video tile drags anywhere on screen and cycles through sizes, so you can keep it small and out of the way while a set runs, then expand it when you’re talking.

It works in modern desktop browsers — Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium browsers are tested. Mobile browser support is expanding; for clinical sessions today we recommend a desktop or laptop with a webcam and a stable broadband connection on both sides.

In-app video is a paid feature, included on Solo and up. On the free tier you can still run a full bilateral-stimulation session and share your own telehealth link with the client. Every tier — including free — can sign a click-wrap BAA at signup.
