Psy180°
For licensed clinicians

Bilateral stimulation, for every modality that uses it — the protocol stays yours.

Psy180 produces the stimulus — synced visual, true stereo audio, controller haptics — with one continuous pacing range so it can match whatever your training calls for. It does not supply protocols, scripts, or training.

What Psy180 is, and isn’t

Independent. Modality-neutral. Endorsed by no one.

Psy180 is an independent software product of Akris LLC — a modality-neutral bilateral stimulation tool for licensed clinicians. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, certified by, or commissioned by any therapy developer, training organization, professional association, or certifying body. Therapy and method names on this site may be trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification only — never to indicate a relationship or approval. Psy180 does not provide clinical training, certification, or supervision, and is not a medical device.

Therapies that use bilateral stimulation

Several approaches pair memory work with alternating left–right stimulation — eye movements, tones, or taps. They differ in structure and training; they share the stimulus. That shared part is what Psy180 delivers.

  • Visual · audio · tactile

    EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. A trauma-focused therapy that uses visual, auditory, or tactile bilateral stimulation.

  • Audio

    Brainspotting

A therapy that pairs a fixed eye position with bilateral audio.

  • Visual · tactile

    Flash Technique

A brief procedure that uses eye movements or alternating taps.

  • Visual

    Accelerated Resolution Therapy

A trauma-focused therapy that uses therapist-guided eye movements.

  • Visual

    Eye Movement Integration

A therapy that uses guided eye movements across several directions of the visual field.

  • Any

    Other dual-attention approaches

Any protocol that uses alternating visual, auditory, or tactile stimulation under a clinician’s pacing.

Listed for identification only. Training and certification for each come from that modality’s own organizations — not from Psy180.

How the settings adapt to your modality

Nothing in Psy180 is labelled with a therapy name. The controls are continuous, so whichever approach you practice, you dial in what your training calls for. Whether to work remotely at all is a separate question — see Is remote bilateral-stimulation therapy safe? for the evidence on both sides and a preparedness checklist.

  • Speed

One continuous range from 0.5 to 2.5 Hz in 0.1 Hz steps. Slow and fast sets sit on the same slider — no preset seams, and no speed labelled with a therapy name. You set what your training calls for.

  • Stimulus

Visual target, true stereo audio, and game-controller haptics — alone or combined, and switchable mid-session when a client’s setup calls for it.

  • Structure

You start, stop, and time each set. Psy180 imposes no phases, sequence, or prompts.

  • Scripts

Upload your own protocol documents to the in-session viewer. Psy180 ships none.

  • Telehealth

The stimulus is rendered on both screens from a shared clock — not streamed as video — so the motion stays smooth at any speed.

Common questions

Which therapies can I use Psy180 with?Read more ↓

Any approach that uses therapist-paced bilateral stimulation. Clinicians use it in EMDR, Brainspotting, the Flash Technique, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Eye Movement Integration, and other dual-attention protocols. Psy180 supplies the stimulus and session tooling; your training supplies the protocol.

Is Psy180 affiliated with or endorsed by any of these therapies’ organizations?Read more ↓

No. Psy180 is independent software from Akris LLC. It was not commissioned by, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by any therapy developer, training organization, or certifying body. Therapy names appear here for identification only.

Does Psy180 include protocols or scripts?Read more ↓

No. The script viewer displays documents you upload. Psy180 never supplies clinical prompts, protocols, or training.

Do I need a particular certification?Read more ↓

Psy180 is built for licensed clinicians and does not verify credentials. The free tier is email-only; paid signup and upgrade collect a self-attested license. Either way, scope of practice stays with you and your board.

What pacing does the visual support?Read more ↓

A continuous 0.5–2.5 Hz range with fine control, so slow and fast sets sit on one slider rather than behind presets. No speed is labelled with a therapy name — you set what your training calls for.

Can I use it over telehealth?Read more ↓

Yes — Psy180 renders the stimulus on both screens instead of streaming a video of it. Positions on remote delivery differ across modalities and their training bodies; some do not endorse it. Check your modality’s own guidance.
