Free forever

A real free tier — sign a BAA at signup, even on free.

Bilateral-stimulation software you can run a real session on, without a card, without a countdown, without a sales call. Email and a click-wrap Business Associate Agreement at signup — available on every tier, including this one.

What’s in the free tier

  • Live bilateral-stimulation sessions with a client
  • Visual ball with full pacing, size, and color controls
  • Stereo bilateral audio (L↔R panning, frame-for-frame with the ball)
  • Game-controller haptics (PS5 DualSense, Xbox Wireless)
  • Click-wrap BAA at signup — immutable encrypted copy, 7-year retention
  • Self-attest your clinician status (we don’t verify credentials)
  • No card. No 14-day countdown. No expiration.

What the paid tier adds

  • Pre and post session check-ins (emotion + distress) with longitudinal history
  • Client profile library — see weeks and months of trend at a glance
  • PDF script viewer with in-session navigation
  • Therapeutic Soundboard custom uploads and saved boards
  • Per-seat billing for group practices

Paid tier (Solo) starts at $25/seat/month with graduated per-seat pricing for group practices. See pricing.

BAA on free — how, and why

The protection is the same. The cost line is in the infrastructure.

Most clinical SaaS gates the BAA behind a paid plan. We don’t — and we can ship it because Psy180’s free tier deliberately doesn’t persist PHI. Free runs live sessions, but session records, check-ins, and longitudinal history live on the paid tiers where the storage and audit-trail infrastructure earns its keep. The BAA itself is signed once at signup, stored as an immutable encrypted record, and retained for the full seven-year HIPAA window.

Common questions

Is the free tier really free forever?

Yes. No card, no time limit. You can run real client sessions on it. The paid tier exists because clinical workflow tooling — longitudinal history, client profiles, the Soundboard library, PDF script viewer — is harder to build and harder to host responsibly, and that’s where the business runs. The free tier exists because clinicians shouldn’t have to pay to find out whether the BLS engine itself is right for their practice.

How can a free tier ship a BAA?

The BAA is software-cost-neutral: the legal protection is the same whether the tier is paid or free. What costs money is the infrastructure required to support a real BAA — encryption, audit logs, retention — and that infrastructure is built and paid for once for all tiers, including free. We don’t store PHI on the free tier (free runs sessions but never persists clinical records), which keeps the cost line where it needs to be.

Is Psy180 a medical device?

No. Psy180 is clinical software — a tool for licensed clinicians — not a medical device, and not subject to FDA clearance. It does not claim therapeutic efficacy on its own; the underlying modalities (EMDR®, Accelerated Resolution Therapy®) have their own evidence bases and their own credentialing bodies.

Why no credit card on signup?

Asking for a card up front is the standard SaaS conversion play and it’s especially common in clinical tools that bury the price behind a “contact sales” form. We don’t — the free tier should be tried on its merits, not used to harvest payment intent.

What happens if I exceed the free tier?

Nothing breaks. You keep running sessions. If you want longitudinal history, client profiles, or the PDF script viewer, you upgrade. Otherwise free is free.
