Free runs live sessions — pre/post check-ins included — but session records, saved check-ins and longitudinal history live on the paid plan, where the storage and audit-trail infrastructure earns its keep. The BAA itself is signed once at signup, stored as an immutable encrypted record, and retained for the full seven-year HIPAA window.

Yes. Live sessions are free forever — your card is never charged, and there's no time limit — and you can run real client sessions on it. The free plan keeps bilateral audio, haptics, every color, the built-in tones, live pre/post check-ins and one script you choose. The paid plan exists because client records — session history, client profiles, saved check-ins — are harder to build and harder to host responsibly, and that’s where the business runs. The free plan exists because clinicians shouldn’t have to pay to find out whether the BLS engine itself is right for their practice.

The BAA is software-cost-neutral: the legal protection is the same whether the plan is paid or free. What costs money is the infrastructure required to support a real BAA — encryption, audit logs, retention — and that infrastructure is built and paid for once for every plan, including free. Every account signs the BAA at signup, and the free plan never stores client records (free runs sessions but never persists them), which keeps the cost line where it needs to be.

It does not claim therapeutic efficacy on its own; the underlying modalities (EMDR®, Accelerated Resolution Therapy®) have their own evidence bases and their own credentialing bodies.
